6th Grade Science @ Bayonet Point Middle
Hello! I'm Mrs. Schultz. I have a Bachelors in Environmental Science with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies and an Concentration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. I have worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Gas and Oil Division. I am the fifth generation of my family to live in Pasco County, Florida. I chose to become a teacher because I LOVE to watch the moment when a child has an "Aha" moment and understands something for the first time. I believe our future can be made better by investing into our children; because one day they will be the ones to make the all the important decisions. Like whats going on our tombstones.
On MYSTUDENT I have put 0's in ALL ungraded spaces because that is what will happen when grades are submitted. Extra credit is optional and does not count against students grades, so they are exempted (X) from doing it if they choose not to do it. Extra credit is never counted as late and may be turned in at any time before end of quarter. As for grading work, I usually grade on Fridays, though the week I empty the turn in bins (paper clip them and sticky note the date on them). Full credit is achieved when an assignment is turned in on time, and 10% off is taken off daily until the assignment reaches 60%. Late work is always accepted until the end of the marking period. The grading scale in my class is 60% Assignments, 30% Tests, and 10% ISN and On Task. Homework is usually only the assignments that were not finished in class that day. Digital activity lists and worksheets are available on line in the assignments section.
